Haddock is famous in the North Atlantic for having a distinctive dark mark above pectoral fin. This is referred to as the “Devil’s Thumbprint” or “St. Peter’s Mark” Haddock has a slightly sweet taste and lean, white meat that becomes whiter when cooked. This is a Northeast United States staple and the most famous fish in Maine for a reason. Haddock has a Mild flavor and firm texture. Best baked with a butter – garlic bread crumb topping or simply broiled with lemon, butter and white wine (wine optional) and herbs.

 Lemon Baked Haddock

 Prep Time: 10 mins   Cook Time: 25 mins

  • 2 pounds Haddock Fillet
  • 1 cup seasoned dry bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons dry parsley flakes
  • 2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder


Cut fish into six serving-size pieces. Place in a greased 11×7-in. baking dish. Combine remaining ingredients; sprinkle over fish. Bake at 350° until fish just begins to flake easily with a fork.
